i feel so much better today. i felt like $hit Saturday and Sunday with a 101 temp throughout. I fell asleep to a lot of cable tv but i did get to watch a few really amusing films in the process. It is definately worth watching Mrs. Palfry at the Claremont and Idiocracy was, um, funny. Stoned, it may have been funnier. Unfortuneately the children are acting a little ill. MJ has a runny nose.
I had to make up for lost time. Every week i have a quota of 10 new art projects a week and being sick has jacked up my work. So today i embellished a flattened Bombay Sapphire bottle for a co- worker and cranked out around 10 pendents and 2 compacts with my baby kiln. I even updated my etsy site this afternoon. What a wonderful day! too bad my siatic has hurt this bad since i was pregnant.. no i am not pregnant!

i'm getting sick
ick. i think i may be coming down with something. i have no idea if it was from a co worker or perhaps one of the outbreak monkeies at the children's doctor's office, but i pray that i am not. I was already sick on Valentine's day.

mama is working again
it has been so long since i blogged here that many may not realize that i have re-entered the workforce back in October.
I work in an awesome resturant in downtown Charleston called Grill 225 which is located in the lobby of the Market Pavillion hotel. The hotel is only 66 rooms and is so beautiful. The resturant's food is too good.
On my 30th birthday i got to enjoy a meal of utter perfection. We had oysters, filet mignon, lobster, fois gras, and so much more. I have not eaten something so good. When i ate our passionfruit sorbet (to cleanse our pallet) i swear i saw clear blue oceans and heard steel pans playing in the distance. Too damn good. I now know why people spend hundreds of dollars on our menu. The best is the best for the reason.
Anyway, i love my job which apparently is not something that is said often there. i forgot how awesome it is to have money in the bank..lol it also grants me the oppurtunity to be around people... but mostly it's the money. the money is so sick compared to the $0 i have brought in in the last 3 years.

the kobe kid strikes
today was a slow one at work. we stood around waiting for our 6 table to come in and make us money. around 6pm a lone man came in saying that his wife was en route and that he wanted to start eating without her.
"don't tell her how much the wine is," he told his server. the bottle was $250 and he sipped the decanted wine quickly as he ate his frois gras appetizer.
We salivated over the possible tip out. His bill so far was up to $300 and he just ordered our Kobe Beef bone in at $125. Cha- ching! That's $425 baby!
Through out the meal his stories were as dreary and cloudy as the terrible storm outside . my wife is in the air and my wife is enroute as well as i'm a chef from Charlotte seemed suspicous to me. We all got a good look at him; however when he got up to "talk to his wife" for like the 10th time his napkin, his umbrella and our tip never reappeared.
Motherf*cker.
His name was Alan Haversham.
The owner was pissed!
Chef was livid.
Us servers and server assistants were in hyisterics.
The cops asked "why we were wasting their time" when asked to please dust for prints..lol
The Kobe Kid apparently hit 2 or 3 other resturants in the city.
Oh well. I made $25 that night instead of like $75.

ahhhh... thank you
today was one of those days where i looked up at the sky and said "thank you". i had to work a double with a 3 hour break in between. i went home and took the family to the beach. it's truely a blessing to live so close to Folly. i thought i saw timothy hutton on a yuppy motorcycle by the beach access talking enthusiastically on his iphone..lol
